2011 Fall Preview: The Peplum

Every women should consider the peplum this fall! In ancient Greece, the peplum was another word for tunic. Today, the peplum is a short flared, or pleated strip of fabric attached at the waist of a jacket, dress, or blouse. Peplum skirts are a hot commodity this fall but A-listers have already picked up on the trend.

Vintage peplums used to end at the knee, today, it makes the waist appear smaller and accentuate the hips. Wearing a peplum piece makes you"sway," just a little more and make you feel so sensual.
You can wear a peplum skirt as a day look by pairing it with a sold or printed tee. For an office look, pair it with a white button up collar shirt. Change your top to a satin lace piece and chunky necklace and your ready for a casual night.
